The Penguin Joke has taken a life of its own for listeners of A Prairie Home Companion. It is Garrison’s favorite joke and is the only joke to be featured on multiple episodes of the almost annual Joke Show. During one live broadcast, Garrison performed the joke 3 times to a modest response as he said I must have said it wrong.
